The U.S. assistance strategy for Cambodia was designed to address governance and rule of law issues, increase private sector competitiveness and productivity, and create opportunities for small and micro-enterprise to grow. Checchi was responsible for evaluating USAID projects and assisting Mission staff to prepare new activity designs that supported this strategy. The evaluations focused on the achievements, measurable outcomes, and impacts of ongoing projects as well as the identification of lessons learned and best practices. The design work involved the synthesis of development hypotheses and recommended activities that built off USAID and other donor efforts and showed the greatest potential for success in terms of relevance, effectiveness, impact, and sustainability.
